İzmir in Turkey is completing its Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP), laying out a clear transport vision for the next 40 years. This includes us at Tripy, which is also preparing to launch operations in the UK.
Launched at the beginning of 2024, Tripy has attracted over 85,000 users, who have collectively traveled over 3.5 million minutes and covered more than 1.1 million kilometers. This rapid adoption highlights İzmir’s growing enthusiasm for shared, eco-friendly micromobility solutions.
As Tripy continues to grow, its benefits are becoming increasingly clear. Over 250 tons of CO₂ emissions have been prevented, and peak-hour traffic congestion has decreased by 4%. These figures underscore the effectiveness of addressing transportation issues not by expanding roads, but by transforming daily habits.
Tripy also promotes healthier lifestyles. Users have burned a total of 20 million calories, revealing a strong link between transportation choices and public health.
Currently, İzmir hosts 2,000 Tripy bikes. Corporate memberships allow companies to offer the service to employees, and the group ride feature enables families or friends to unlock and ride together with a single account.
Thanks to the support and engagement of İzmir’s residents, Mayor Tugay’s forward-thinking vision and the city’s sustainable policies are turning İzmir into a leading example for urban transportation transformation in Europe.
