Bike Share Forums in the UK and Scotland

Bike Share Forums offer a fantastic opportunity to discuss sector innovations and share your challenges and experiences.

UK Bike Share Forum

CoMoUK holds a forum with local authorities and interested partners who are currently managing or developing a bike share system. Through this forum we aim to share best practice across the UK and from overseas.

Discussions cover latest funding opportunities and sector innovations as well as providing scheme managers with a chance to share challenges and experience. The previous topics have covered:

• National users survey

• Procurement process

• Electric bikes

• Bike share safety

• Community engagement and responses to theft & vandalism

• Quality assurance

• Different models of bike share

• Marketing

The meetings usually occur monthly by telephone conference as well as through conference events.

There is a voluntary payment for membership of the group of £300 (ex vat).  COMOUK MEMBERSHIP PAGE

Scotland's Bike Share Forum

The Scotland Bike Share Forum aims to support local authorities and community groups developing new and existing bike share schemes of all models.  The forum will share knowledge and experience within Scotland, and through CoMoUK, link to best practice in England & overseas.  By working collectively it is possible to maximise the outcomes bike share; to act as a catalyst to introducing people new to cycling, and support active travel and social inclusion policy objectives.

The Forum will also have workshops to explore your questions on procurement, e-bikes and access to bikes in different contexts. The format will include a range of the following; panel speakers, workshops, monthly catch ups with updates from officers, an opportunity for officers to tap into knowledge of those more experienced that has proved popular and useful at the UK wide Forum.

There is a voluntary payment for membership of the group of £300 (ex vat).
