Welcome to Holm's pop-up mobility hub. The hub was at Ness Side Tesco superstore from 16 January until 26 March 2024 to help people walk, wheel or cycle more for local journeys.

Travelling without a car in and around Holm and Inverness

No. 9 bus (Stagecoach):

  • Runs from Inverness city centre (Academy Street) to Culduthel, via Holm Park and Ness Castle
  • Stops on Dores Road, next to Tesco
  • Buses run Monday-Saturday, approx. hourly from early morning to late evening (see timetable for no. 9 bus)

No. 302 bus (Highland Council):

  • Runs from Inverness bus station to Foyers, via Dores and Inverfarigaig
  • Stops on Dores Road, next to Tesco
  • Buses run every few hours Monday-Friday and three times per day on Saturdays, from morning to early evening (see timetable for no. 302 bus)

Bus travel is free with a National Entitlement Card (e.g. under 22s or over 60s) or from £4.60 for an Inverness zone 1 unlimited DayRider ticket (see Stagecoach website for fares info).

You can walk or wheel to lots of places in Holm in less than 15 minutes. Walking is good for your health and your wallet, as well as good for the planet.

Most places in Holmcan be reached by bike in around 5 minutes. It also only takes around 10-15 minutes to cycle to the centre of Inverness or places like Inverness leisure centre and Inverness Botanic Gardens. You can plan your cycling route using the CycleStreets website or app.

The Go-Hi app allows you to plan and pay for all your journeys around Inverness and the Highlands using just one app. This includes bus, train, on demand buses and car clubs. Find out more and download the app.

Want to walk or cycle more often?

We will be running free try out cycling events from this pop-up mobility hub while it is in Holm (bikes can be provided). Please sign up using the links for the event page above or turn up on the day. Local charity Velocity are running a ‘Cycle to Health’ project in 2023/24; you can find out more on their website.

This pop-up mobility hub is a docking station for Inverness Hi-Bike sharing system, with docking stations all over Inverness. If you would like to receive a discounted membership to Hi-Bike, please email scotland@como.org.uk. Velocity has more information on other affordable ways to buy or borrow bikes in Inverness.

We will be running a free guided health walk from this pop-up mobility hub while it is in Holm, led by local charity Partnerships for Wellbeing (P4W).

P4W runs weekly free walks in and around Inverness including on Wednesdays at 10:30am, meeting at Smithton Hotel, and on Thursdays at 10:30am, meeting in front of the Botanic Gardens café. All are welcome. There is also a walk for people with cancer and family members/carers, meeting on Thursdays at 10:30am at Maggie’s cancer care centre, Raigmore Hospital.
