The hub was at Merkinch primary school between 2 May and 3 July 2024 and is part of a project to help people walk, wheel or cycle more for local journeys.
This was the second pop-up in Merkinch. The first pop-up ran 22 November - 18 December 2023.

Bus travel is free with a National Entitlement Card (e.g. under 22s or over 60s) or from £4.90 for an Inverness zone 1 unlimited DayRider ticket (see Stagecoach website for fares info).
You can walk or wheel to most places in Merkinch in around 10 minutes. Walking is good for your health and your wallet, as well as good for the planet.
Most places in Merkinch can be reached by bike in less than 5 minutes. It also only takes around 10-15 minutes to cycle to nearby places like the Eastgate Shopping Centre, Inverness leisure centre and Clachnaharry. You can plan your cycling route using the CycleStreets website or app.

Kidical Mass North run monthly family cycle rides around Inverness, which usually takes place on the first Saturday of every month at 1:30pm, starting at Bellfield Park.
This pop-up mobility hub is a docking station for Inverness’ Hi-Bike cycle hire scheme, with docking stations all over Inverness.
To get a free Hi-Bike membership take a selfie with Merkinch’s pop-up mobility hub and email it to info@hi-bike.co.uk. You will receive a reply with a code for a free month’s membership. Offer open to those aged 16+, see Hi-Bike website for more information about the scheme.
