The hub will be on Carmunnock Road from the week of 16 September 2024 for up to seven weeks and is part of a project to help people walk, wheel or cycle more for local journeys.

There are many options for travelling around Glasgow using bus, rail and subway. Mount Florida train station is less than 10 minutes’ walk away from the pop-up hub and there are regular bus services from Cathcart and Battlefield roads. You can walk or wheel to most places in and around Mount Florida in around 10 minutes. Walking is good for your health and your wallet, as well as good for the planet.
Most places in Mount Florida can be reached by bike in less than 5 minutes. It also only takes around 10-15 minutes to cycle to nearby places like Queen’s Park, the New Victoria Hospital or the Asda Toryglen superstore. You can plan your cycling route using the CycleStreets website or app.

This pop-up mobility hub is a hire station for Glasgow’s nextbike cycle hire scheme, with hire stations all over the city. Use your phone to rent a bike from your nearest hire station and drop it off at another hire station of your choosing.

You can hire bikes for longer periods from Bike for Good, and they also offer a long-term Switch Up bike subscription scheme for different types of bike. Women on Wheels also offer affordable bike hire through their bike and equipment library, on a free or pay as you can basis.
Most local journeys can be done by walking, cycling or public transport.
