MOBILITY HUBS

Accreditation

Mobility hub accreditation

Our accreditation standard is based on the types of hub we identified in our introductory guidance to mobility hubs.

Each type of hub in our accreditation standard comes with a set of suggested elements required to meet the standards and achieve accreditation.

There are differing levels of requirements for gold, silver or bronze level accreditation.

Accreditation provides many benefits to those developing them:

  • It provides a useful checklist when developing a hub
  • Press coverage of accredited schemes raises the profile of hubs and shared transport
  • Accreditation helps to maintain high standards and shines a light on high quality hubs
  • It provides examples of good practice to others developing hubs
  • Accreditation can support funding and planning permission applications

Community mobility hub accreditation

We have developed this guidance for community groups applying for mobility hub accreditation in their communities. It opens up the potential for variations in mobility hub accreditation criteria in situations where a lack of resources or services mean it is not possible to fit the full application standards.

Applications will be assessed on a case by case basis within the overall framework of mobility hub accreditation and ensuring that they are places that bring sustainable transport options together, while improving the public realm for all.
